Royal Challengers Bangalore riding on Gayle's big knock thumped defending champions KKR in their last match. Once an impossible task to win looked so easy when Gayle got going. The overall performance for the team as a whole wasn't satisfactory. The bowling and fielding were below standard. Rajasthan Royals made a successful start to their IPL 2015 campaign. They defeated mighty Kings XI Punjab in Pune by a good margin of 26 runs. After a shaky start, Rajasthan Royal's captain Smith anchored the innings. Good knocks by the lower middle order batsmen took RR to a good score. This was followed by some good bowling and fielding performances. Let us see who clinches this one at Ferozshah Kotla stadium.

One of the most fancied teams Mumbai Indians lock horns with Kings XI Punjab at Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Indians suffered a loss against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2015 opening match. They need to pull up their socks if they have to beat Kings XI Punjab.

Rohit Sharma smashed a good 98 just to see the team lose against KKR at the Eden Gardens. He would love to better his performance at Mumbai Indian's home ground. He would also expect some good performances from fellow batsmen and as well as the bowling line up.

Kings XI Punjab earned a lot of name, fame and fans last year when they dominated against every single team. Maxwell, Bailey, Sehwag and company marched to the finals with lot of wins. But they saw a defeat against KKR in the finals. Maxwell is due for a big one and so is Sehwag. Even the bowlers must have rolled up their sleeves for a win at Wankhede.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have seen a bit of overhaul with David Warner now leading the side. He will open with Shikhar Dhawan. They have other good batters like Eoin Morgan and Kane Williamson. They have a strong batting line up to test the skills of Chennai batsmen. Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Trent Boult can give nightmares to any opposition.

The second match comprises of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and one of the most fancied teams Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will begin at 8pm IST.

Kolkata Knight Riders would love to continue their winning run with one of the openers sticking to the crease and middle order taking care of the acceleration. Gambir, Uthappa and Manish Pandey do a decent job up the order. They have a good bowling line up with Sunil Narine and Morne Morkel.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have lost their last three matches against Kolkata Knight Riders. RCB players need to come up with brilliant performance to go past the defending champions. Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers are good enough to face any bowling line up in the IPL. They would miss the absence of Mitchell Starc but they still have good bowlers like Sean Abbott, Adam Milne and Varun Aaron.

Rajasthan Royals will never forget their first ever title win when Shane Warne lead the team. Since then they haven't seen that amount of success. Kings XI Punjab have seen a lot of overhauls so far in the IPL history. Last year they looked the best so far under George Bailey's captaincy and Sanjay Bangar's guidance. Glenn Maxwell and David Miller have been an integral part of the squad since last year.

Since both these teams have tried to retain a lot of players, they stayed a bit silent in the IPL auction. With not a lot of rejig in the squad, we can expect similar roles and tactics from the team think tanks.

Kings XI probably hosts the most explosive batting department this year. Sehwag, Maxwell and Miller are match winners while Murali Vijay can be rock solid. Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha add a lot of value to the middle order with George Bailey. Bowling attack looks decent with Mitchell Johnson, Axar Patel, Sandeep Sharma and Parvinder Awana.

For Rajasthan Royals the story is little bit similar. Watson, Samson and Smith can handle the batting pressure along with solid Ajinkya Rahane. Tim Southee can lead the bowling attack with Faulkner, Watson, Binny, Dhawal Kulkarni and Tambe.

Although Rajasthan Royals have bettered out Kings XI Punjab in head to head count, the Punjabi team will do all possible things to go one match up in the stats so far.

Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils

Two teams that are lingering down at the bottom of the points table. They have nothing to lose now. Not too late but can't wait anymore. They need to kick off their winning ways. Mumbai is still winless whereas Delhi managed just one win out of four matches they played. Mumbai will play its fourth match today. Three to four straight wins in a row is what these two teams need.

The opening pair of Quinton de Kock and Murali Vijay seems to be well settled. They are followed by capable unit of batting line up that comprises of Pietersen, Duminy and Dinesh Karthik. Speculations are high that Delhi may bring Duminy up the order as he is in sparkling form. Mumbai's batting line up looks in dismal form. So Parnell and Shami would like to capitalise on this.

Mumbai Indians could manage scores of 121, 115 and 141 in their first three matches. That shows how badly the team is struggling while posting good totals. Hussey didn't fit into the schemes of the team so far so they can look to drop him and give Dunk an opportunity. Or they can bring Pollard and Anderson up the order and ask Rohit Sharma to open the innings.

The bowling line up for Mumbai looks strong but the batsmen have failed to post a total good enough to defend. Zaheer and Malinga are doing a good job in the pace attack. Harbhajan and Ojha are capable enough to pressurise the opposition with their quality spin attack. Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

This could be a match of two big hitting teams. And such a match is always a pleasure to watch when we are talking about the shortest version of cricket. Good part is both the teams have returned from a win in their last match. Especially Chennai has proved yet again that no one bounces back as well as they do. After losing first match they won three on the trot and won them all comprehensively.

For Sunrisers the biggest issue till the last match was drought of runs from the top order. Any team would feel proud to possess a top order like Dhawan, Finch and Warner. But they didn't click until they played in their last match against Delhi Daredevils. Similarly Chennai feels proud with powerful hitters up the order like McCullum and Dwayne Smith. Not to forget they have a long batting line up that consists of Raina and Dhoni too.

Sunrisers have played against Chennai twice and lost both the matches to them. They would be itching to clinch a win against the strong Chennai whereas Chennai would love to register another win and seal their second position in the points tally. Both these teams suffered a narrow loss in the previous matches. Rajasthan lost to Chennai by seven runs and RCB lost to similar such match against KKR. But things would be different this time as they would enjoy the leisure to play on best of the three venues in the UAE.

Shane Watson for Rajasthan is inconsistent. People also feel he should come up the order and open the innings. That would lay a quick and solid foundation to the Royals' innings. The Royal think tank can think of sneaking in Cooper or even Unmukt Chand up the batting order.

RCB has a strong batting line up and they would be hopeful of Gayle's return. Kohli, De Villiers and Yuvraj would always be the backbone of their middle order. Bowling wise they can turn tables on Rajasthan Royals. Both teams would strive for a win here to climb up few places in the points table.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab

Kolkata pulled out an unbelievable victory while defending an average total against RCB. It seemed it would be an easy win for RCB, but some tight bowling in the end, sluggish batting by Yuvraj and spectacular catch by Lynn dropped the match in KKR's pockets. They would love to carry on with a winning streak from here on as they have the potential to do so. But this time they are up against the strongest performing team of IPL 2014.

Gautam Gambhir is at the lowest of his confidence level after three ducks on the trot. A win in the last match would have provided him great relief after he was plumbed LBW for a naught again. Sunil Narine is doing a great job as usual. Kallis looks in great touch this year with his bat. He doesn't seem to be stopping in any terms.

Kings XI is certainly riding high on success of Maxwell. He has hammered all the opposition bowlers across all parks. Big question is how long can continue his good form. The team looks too relied upon Maxwell. Miller has batted well in couple of matches. If the bowling and batting department can click in tandem again, this team looks unbeatable.

Both CSK and RR had similar woes against Kings XI. After posting a decent total they lost to Kings XI, due to some loose bowling. They need to gather everything in terms of their bowling attack before they could think of a win here. A lot depends on Ashwin, Hilfenhaus, Mohit Sharma and Badree (for CSK) if he is to play today. Similarly Rajasthan Royals would depend on Faulkner, Tambe, Bhatia, Cooper and many more to name. Shane Watson has to pick the right combination to beat the best IPL team.

Glen Maxwell is at the primest of his forms with two sparkling innings of 95 and 89 in last two matches. Miller has provided him a great stand at the other end of the crease. If Maxwell goes on to score another half century, the team might win based on his previous records. Punjab has two more attractive players viz Sehwag and Johnson. They both looked rusty in last two matches but if these two get going with Maxwell and Miller, it would be almost impossible to beat Kings XI Punjab.

Suprising stat here would be the head to head record. Sunrisers Hyderabad has played two matches so far against Kings XI and won both. So certainly Kings XI would push hard in this match to open their winning account against the Sunrisers.

Shikhar Dhawan is a powerful batsman up the order for Sunrisers. Fans are eager to see his powerful hitting which has been missing from past few months. Another blaster in the team is David Warner. World knows what he can do when he is in golden touch. If Sunrisers can score big, they can content the opposition with a strong bowling line up consisting of Steyn, Ishant, Bhuvaneshwar, Amit Mishra and Karan Sharma. It isn't too regular to see a team posting 200 plus runs and then losing it. The strongest team in the IPL history viz. Chennai Super Kings suffered that blow in their opening match against Kings XI Punjab. After a splendid start from McCullum and Dwayne Smith. They scored 123 runs in just 12.4 overs before McCullum departed on 67 off just 45 balls. Smith scored 66 off just 43 balls. Raina and Dhoni continued the hitting with 24 and 26 runs from 19 and 11 balls respectively. But they didn't receive an equal support from the bowling end. Magical innings from Maxwell (95 runs from 43 balls) and Miller (54 runs from 37 balls) snatched the match from CSK.

It would be interesting to see how Chennai's team can bounce back after that heart breaking loss. Although it isn't late at all for CSK as they have played just one match, still they need to pull up their socks at the earliest. On the other hand we have Delhi Daredevils that looked too depleted now in the absence of Sehwags and Pietersens. Skipper Pietersen didn't play first two matches due to an injury. Although the clouds of uncertainties are still very dark that whether he would play today or not, the good news flew in later when he indicated that he has almost recovered from the injury.

Delhi lost its first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore but they bounced back well against Kolkata to clinch a win. JP Dumminy is in a phenomenal form. He is just below the orange cap holder Maxwell. Duminy has scored 119 runs from 2 innings with a strike rate of 143. He also has six sixes to his name so far and e finds himself amongst the top few six hitters this year in the IPL's seventh edition.
