It isn't too regular to see a team posting 200 plus runs and then losing it. The strongest team in the IPL history viz. Chennai Super Kings suffered that blow in their opening match against Kings XI Punjab. After a splendid start from McCullum and Dwayne Smith. They scored 123 runs in just 12.4 overs before McCullum departed on 67 off just 45 balls. Smith scored 66 off just 43 balls. Raina and Dhoni continued the hitting with 24 and 26 runs from 19 and 11 balls respectively. But they didn't receive an equal support from the bowling end. Magical innings from Maxwell (95 runs from 43 balls) and Miller (54 runs from 37 balls) snatched the match from CSK.

It would be interesting to see how Chennai's team can bounce back after that heart breaking loss. Although it isn't late at all for CSK as they have played just one match, still they need to pull up their socks at the earliest. By the way we all know, no one bounces back as well as the SuperKings do! Another funny tweet here for our readers. Sir Ravindra Jadeja follows the ball till the moon. On the other hand we have Delhi Daredevils that looked too depleted now in the absence of Sehwags and Pietersens. Skipper Pietersen didn't play first two matches due to an injury. Although the clouds of uncertainties are still very dark that whether he would play today or not, the good news flew in later when he indicated that he has almost recovered from the injury.

Delhi lost its first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore but they bounced back well against Kolkata to clinch a win. JP Dumminy is in a phenomenal form. He is just below the orange cap holder Maxwell. Duminy has scored 119 runs from 2 innings with a strike rate of 143. He also has six sixes to his name so far and e finds himself amongst the top few six hitters this year in the IPL's seventh edition.

On paper we still fill Chennai is a stronger team, but as you saw how they lost even after posting 200 plus on board, it is too hard to pick a favourite. Rather its always hard to do this in any IPL face off.

We saw the biggest shuffle in IPL 2013 points table when Rajasthan defeated Mumbai with a huge margin and toppling them to achieve top position. Now Rajasthan Royals stand on the top position and Mumbai Indians are dropped to fourth ranking. If Chennai Super Kings manages to beat Delhi Daredevils today with a big margin, they can further topple Mumbai Indians and take their fourth position in the points table.

Delhi Daredevils performances haven't done justice to the strength they display on paper. And this proves that on paper strength doesn't matter. Ultimately the outcome of the matches matters. Delhi has been at the receiving in all the matches they have played so far. Languishing right at the bottom of the points tally, they have lost all their matches so far in IPL 2013.

Mahela Jayawardene still sees chances of getting into top four positions if his team atleast win all the remaining home matches. And their campaign can begin with a win today against strong Chennai Super Kings. The biggest boost that can help this team win matches would be consistent contributions from Sehwag and Warner. 

In their last match Delhi Daredevils showcased a lot of improvement as they managed to tie against Royal Challengers Bangalore. But ultimately they gave up in the Super Over and couldn't register their first win. They need to turn tables on the opponents in such tight finishes.

On the other hand Chennai Super Kings were shocked with their defeat against Pune Warriors India. Chasing 160 runs which shouldn't have been too difficult for Chennai, they lost the momentum in between and ended up losing by 25 runs. CSK has played three matches at home so far and lost two. This isn't the way they generally perform at home. Time now for CSK to pull up their socks and pull out a big victory to reach top four!

Suresh Raina is CSK's best batsman so far but he looks out of form. It would be a great news for CSK if he regains his form at the earliest. At times it is required for Dhoni to climb up the order a bit because while chasing the momentum slows down too much with the likes of Badrinath. Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay needs to consistenly lay a good foundation while batting first of while chasing too.

On a head to head note, CSK leads the stats 6-4 against Delhi. So another great opportunity for Delhi to make it even stevens. Plus they enjoy the home advantage also. Let us see if CSK provides a spirited performance and clinches a win or Delhi comes up with something great to register their first win this year.
