Mumbai Indians started their IPL 2015 journey on a very low note. After losing many of their initial matches they were languishing at the bottom half of the points tally. Suddenly there was a turn around in their fortunes. Suddenly they found the right combination that brought them to the winning ways. They started winning almost every match they played and to everyone's surprise they finished second in the points table (just below Chennai Super Kings). That served them an opportunity to take on CSK in the first qualifier at Wankhede Stadium where they emerged as the better team. This gave them a direct entry to the finals.

Chennai Super Kings were destined to meet Mumbai Indians in the finals after facing them twice in the league stage and later in the first qualifier. Mumbai Indians won two out of these three matches. CSK has a chance tonight to not only win the IPL trophy but even the head to head count this year.

CSK had a flying start to IPL 2015 and even though they slipped in performance in the later half of the league, they still managed to stay in top two for most of this season. They ended up on the top spot of points table with their good wins and better net run rates. 

CSK will appear in an IPL final for the sixth time! Six finals in eight editions in itself showcases the success of this great team. Mumbai Indians will feature in their third ever final and surprisingly they have played their first two finals against CSK (won one and lost one to CSK). CSK and KKR are the only two teams in IPL history to have clinched the trophy twice. Mumbai has an opportunity to grab the trophy for the second time and join the club of CSK and KKR.

Last time when these two teams played, it was Lendl Simmons, Harbhajan Singh and Kieron Pollard who come up with match winning performances. CSK will keep a close eye on them. Apart from them even Parthiv Patel, Suchith, Rohit Sharma and Malinga could be lethal for the Chennai team.

As far as CSK is concerned, its good to see Michael Hussey doing a great job in place of Brendon McCullum to notch up a win over RCB in the second qualifier. MS Dhoni anchored the innings in the end to a win while Negi came in handy with couple of powerful blows. Dwayne Bravo and Ashish Nehra will play an important role as fast bowlers and Jadeja, Negi and Ashwin will play a major role to restrict the MI batsmen from scoring freely.

This match would bring and end to perhaps the best IPL edition so far. We never saw so much of fight between the teams to reach the playoffs. It was anybody's game but now we have the two best teams who would battle it out at the Eden Gardens for the prestigious Indian Premier League title.

As far as T20 cricket is concerned, we will have to take a long break as CLT20 league is less likely to happen this year. First it was Gayle who took on the Kings XI bowlers to hit a 57 ball 117 runs innings. Even bigger carnage against Mumbai Indians was lead by AB de Villiers and well supported by Virat Kohli. They both went on to share a partnership of mammoth 215 runs!

The only worry for RCB could be their bowling. They have leaked good amount of runs. Even Mitchell Starc went for runs against MI. Overall he has been highly economical and Kohli would expect some good bowling figures from his bowlers tonight.

Kings XI Punjab have nothing to lose. They are already out of the race. They have aimed to spoil parties of other teams but failed in the end. Will it be their night at Mohali? Will David Miller come up with another inspirational batting knock tonight? Or will Maxwell retain his form and show some high scoring skills at Mohali? George Bailey would expect everything to go in favour of his team tonight.

They face a daunting task of beating MI today but they have to win this one to stay alive in the competition.

Mumbai Indians share a similar story. They too are badly looking for a win. Beating RCB won't be that easy as they have a strong batting line up. Rohit Sharma and Rayudu are scoring runs consistently. Harbhajan and Pollard are doing a great all round job for the team.

Rajasthan Royals had a dream start to the IPL 2015 campaign. They lost way in between but its good to see them again back to the winning course. Ajinkya Rahane has scored loads of runs for the team. Watson and Smith hold a lot of importance in the batting line up.

CSK, the strongest team in the IPL history looked a bit struggling against MI in their last match at the Chepauk. Dhoni accepted his tactical error of giving Negi the 19th over. But they still remain too strong and favourites at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Although RCB has got a good support recently from the likes of Sarfaraz Khan or David Wiese, their prime strength still stays with Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Mitchell Starc. Surprisingly Starc has bowled six batsmen out of his 11 wickets so far in IPL 2015. Since the time he joined the team, RCB has been able to contain the opposition for lower totals. 

KXIP is badly looking for an inspirational performance from the team members. Gone are those days when Maxwell or Miller used to hammers the bowlers all over the parks. Even Virender Sehwag has looked silent this year. Bailey has scored consistently and Murali Vijay has done a good job so far. But that hasn't been enough for the team to get to the winning ways.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium is well known for big scores. Infact around 70% runs are scored here in boundaries and sixes. With two teams that are well known for big hitting, we can see a lot of runs today. KXIP have won 9 out of 14 matches against RCB. But this year things don't seem to be going the Kings' way. Yes Kings XI Punjab can play spoil sport from here on by winning some matches and spoiling others' parties.

Shane Watson would be worried to see his team lose a few matches since he returned as a full time captain. Smith, Hooda and Binny need to contribute more. Sanju Samson scored well in the last match but he couldn't earn a win in the end.

Delhi Daredevils have seen a lot of ups and downs in this tournament. It is clearly evident that skipper JP Dumminy is working really hard to bring the team back to the winnings ways. Yuvraj Singh is due for a big one since ages now. Zaheer Khan bowled exceptionaly well in the last match and lot is expected from him. Imran Tahir and Amit Mishra are the backbone of Delhi's bowling. If they don't give away too many runs and pick few wickets, it can invite trouble to the opposition.

Royal Challengers Bangalore camp seem to be happy with some good performances in the recent past. They have slowly gained some momentum. Likes of David Weise and Mitchell Starc have strengthen the bowling line up while good to see Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli bit consistent this time.

Kolkata Knight Riders are on the third spot of points tally. They can't get complacent. They need to reserve some wins to reserve a spot in the play offs. They suffered a loss recently against CSK but in the most recent outing against CSK they nailed a win. Gambhir and Uthappa hold the key at top of the order while there are few all rounders in the middle order who can anchor the innings.

CSK is again at the top of the points tally. They need few more wins to seal a berth in the play offs. MS Dhoni's team has done a great job so far in IPL 2015. Their last match resulted in a near loss against KKR. They would like to recover today at Hyderabad. 

SRH has done a decent job this year under David Warner. Their only drawback is over reliability on openers David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan. Middle order has to score for wins. Bowling line up is strong to contain the likes of McCullum or Raina from CSK.

Sunrisers have a similar picture in front of them. They have just two wins out of six matches. Just the better net run rate keeps them above MI and Kings XI. Its getting late for them as well. David Warner and company need to nail the close ones.

Their last outing against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede was an absolute failure. They were chasing a modest total of 150 plus. But they never looked like winning. Ideally that total should have been chased with ease in presence of Warner and Dhawan.

The team is over relying on Warner and Dhawan's knocks. The middle order needs to click now before its too late. The bowling still looks good in presence of Boult, Praveen Kumar, Steyn, Karn Sharma and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

For Kings XI Punjab, Maxwell still holds the ace. But he isn't in good form at all. Shaun Marsh is reliable if he gets an opportunity tonight. David Miller and Sehwag too have looked silent this season. Bailey is yet to find the right combination for the winning formula.

This match promises to be highly competitive because both the teams are badly looking for a win here.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai Indians is in a sparkling form. He has consistently contributed to the team's total. But the team needs consistent scorers to support him. At times Corey Anderson plays a blinder and at times its Harbhajan or Pollard. They need good contributions from the top order batsmen. Even the bowling hasn't been upto the mark. Lasith Malinga is always good with is yorkers but he hasn't been as effective as he used to be. Harbhajan Singh is doing a great job not only with the ball but also with the bat.

Talking about Delhi's skipper JP Duminy, he can do well with both bat and ball. His one all round performance can turn tables on the opposition. Shreyas Iyer needs to be good at the top to lay a good run foundation. Likes of Yuvraj Singh have been good in patches. The 33 year old all rounder has to contribute more if the team has to win.

Overall both the teams have won nine matches each while playing against each other. Last year Delhi defeated Mumbai at Sharjah. In the return fixture, Mumbai returned the favours to Delhi with brilliant knocks from Michael Hussey and Lendl Simmons.

Delhi Daredevils will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore on 26th April at home. Mumbai Indians will host Sunrisers Hyderabad on 25th April.

If KKR has to retain its title, Sunil Narine has to show his magic again.

Andre Russell was at his best when he hammered Kings XI Punjab bowlers and did something that was unbelievable. Five down for just 60 runs on board, KKR was chasing a big total. Russell scored a quick fire 60 plus score to take KKR home! 

Delhi Daredevils would be pleased to see Yuvraj, Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer contributing well for the wins. The ace for the team still remains to be the skipper JP Duminy. He not only comes in handy with the ball but scores well to clinch wins for the team. He is an exceptional fielder too.

They have a strong batting line up to test the skills of Chennai batsmen. Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Trent Boult can give nightmares to any opposition.

The second match comprises of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and one of the most fancied teams Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will begin at 8pm IST.

Kolkata Knight Riders would love to continue their winning run with one of the openers sticking to the crease and middle order taking care of the acceleration. Gambir, Uthappa and Manish Pandey do a decent job up the order. They have a good bowling line up with Sunil Narine and Morne Morkel.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have lost their last three matches against Kolkata Knight Riders. RCB players need to come up with brilliant performance to go past the defending champions. The exact venue would be the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. In yet another grand auction for Indian Premier League (IPL 2015), we saw a lot of players getting shuffled into some other teams. The biggest one was Yuvraj Singh moving to Delhi Daredevils that too for a mind boggling 16,00,00,000 Indian National Rupees (16 Crores INR). Unfortunately he wasn't picked for India's 2015 Cricket World Cup team. Total 349 players were auctioned out of which 67 were sold. 43 out of these were Indians and rest were overseas players. Further bifurcating it, 33 of them were capped players while 34 were uncapped. The total amount spent in this year's IPL auction was more than 87 Crore Indian Rupees.

Some highlights of the IPL 2015 auction:

Yuvraj Singh was bought by Delhi Daredevils for 16 Crore Rupees.

Dinesh Karthik was clinched by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 10.5 Crore Rupees.
