It would be interesting to see how CSK can cope up with the absence of their master blaster Brendon McCullum. With his quick starts the team was able to capitalise and build big scores. Michael Hussey has played just to matches and he is yet to find his feet. If he proves to be an equally good replacement for Brendon, one can expect wonders from CSK. As far as bowling is concerned, Ashish Nehra, Negi, Ashwin, Bravo and Jadeja will have to pass a litmus test against the likes of Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat.

The batting trio can demolish any bowling line ups of the T20 cricket. If these three would get going, CSK would face tough times at Ranchi. But if the CSK bowlers can contain these three on a lower score, things would be much easier for them. On the other hand, RCB have some good bowlers like Mitchell Starc, Aravind, Chahal, etc who could maximum discomfort Smith, Raina, Hussey, Dhoni and company.

Sunrisers Hyderabad play at Visakhapatnam today to end their home matches with a win. But achieving it against defending champions KKR won't be easy. KKR have played like champs and stay steady on third position with six points. They have chased pretty well in last two matches. Talking about the last one, they restricted hosts Delhi Daredevils to 146 and chased the target easily.

Sunrisers need to rely a lot on openers Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner. Although these two have played well the team has lost close encounters. Its not that the team hasn't been competitive. But they haven't been upto the mark to win close finishes. With a good bowling line up, the batsmen need to give them bigger totals to defend.

The other match for the day comprises of two high profile teams. The biggest similarity between these two teams is the big hitters they boast of. Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith, Raina, Dhoni and Faf du Plessis form a good batting line up for CSK. Whereas Gayle, AB de Villiers and Kohli make RCB batting pretty formidable. 

RCB will enjoy the home conditions here at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Mitchell Starc will add a lot of strength to the bowling line up. Delhi Daredevils will play their third match. They are yet to win a game. They had dismal performances in last two years. This year under the captaincy of Dumminy, this team would certainly like to reach the knock outs.

Shami and Zaheer Khan are believed to be unfit and unavailable for today's match. A lot relies of Imran Tahir and Amit Mishra in this match to contain the hard hitting Punjab players.

They need to pull up their socks to provide an optimum performance.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have seen a bit of overhaul with David Warner now leading the side. He will open with Shikhar Dhawan. They have other good batters like Eoin Morgan and Kane Williamson. They have a strong batting line up to test the skills of Chennai batsmen. Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Trent Boult can give nightmares to any opposition.

The second match comprises of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and one of the most fancied teams Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will begin at 8pm IST.

Kolkata Knight Riders would love to continue their winning run with one of the openers sticking to the crease and middle order taking care of the acceleration. Gambir, Uthappa and Manish Pandey do a decent job up the order. They have a good bowling line up with Sunil Narine and Morne Morkel.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have lost their last three matches against Kolkata Knight Riders. RCB players need to come up with brilliant performance to go past the defending champions. Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers are good enough to face any bowling line up in the IPL. They would miss the absence of Mitchell Starc but they still have good bowlers like Sean Abbott, Adam Milne and Varun Aaron.

Bowlers like Morne Morkel, Sunil Narine and Shakib Al Hasan will provide a good bowling strength to the team.

MI has an equally good batting line up. Aaron Finch, Unmukt Chand, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and Corey Anderson play an important role in the batting department. Experience of Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh would be a key with the ball.

Both these teams suffered a narrow loss in the previous matches. Rajasthan lost to Chennai by seven runs and RCB lost to similar such match against KKR. But things would be different this time as they would enjoy the leisure to play on best of the three venues in the UAE.

Shane Watson for Rajasthan is inconsistent. People also feel he should come up the order and open the innings. That would lay a quick and solid foundation to the Royals' innings. The Royal think tank can think of sneaking in Cooper or even Unmukt Chand up the batting order.

RCB has a strong batting line up and they would be hopeful of Gayle's return. Kohli, De Villiers and Yuvraj would always be the backbone of their middle order. Bowling wise they can turn tables on Rajasthan Royals. Both teams would strive for a win here to climb up few places in the points table.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab

Kolkata pulled out an unbelievable victory while defending an average total against RCB. It seemed it would be an easy win for RCB, but some tight bowling in the end, sluggish batting by Yuvraj and spectacular catch by Lynn dropped the match in KKR's pockets. They would love to carry on with a winning streak from here on as they have the potential to do so. But this time they are up against the strongest performing team of IPL 2014.

Gautam Gambhir is at the lowest of his confidence level after three ducks on the trot. A win in the last match would have provided him great relief after he was plumbed LBW for a naught again. Sunil Narine is doing a great job as usual. Kallis looks in great touch this year with his bat. He doesn't seem to be stopping in any terms.

Kings XI is certainly riding high on success of Maxwell. He has hammered all the opposition bowlers across all parks. Big question is how long can continue his good form. The team looks too relied upon Maxwell. Miller has batted well in couple of matches. If the bowling and batting department can click in tandem again, this team looks unbeatable.
