Chennai Super Kings received a shocker when they lost a match against Pune Warriors this year. After that defeat Chennai hasn't looked back and all they did till now is win, win and win! Michael Hussey is in exceptional form and surely in the race of the Orange Cap. He has consistently scored half centuries and that too at a good strike rate. Playing Saha in the last match against KKR was a good idea as he looked in a much better form compared to Murali Vijay. He scored a brisk 39 runs off just 23 balls against KKR. 

Hussey and Dhoni are major contributors to CSK's wins this year

MS Dhoni has equally contributed in the team's victories and he continues to be the deadliest finisher in contemporary cricket. Bowling wise Dhoni is disappointed since last few matches. Bravo and Nannes are constantly leaking a lot of runs. Ashwin is economical but he isn't providing too many breakthroughs. Overall the team finds it difficult to even defend big totals. Fielding has been phenomenal for this side.

Pune could play a role of party spoilers if they can manage some wins in this league. As far as their hopes of reaching the play-offs is concerned, it looks almost improbable. The team lacks good home players. Over dependency on overseas players have hit the team's form hard. Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh have failed this time to provide strength to the brittle middle order.

The pitch here would provide a good contest between batsmen and bowler. This could not be a high scoring game but when CSK is playing we can definitely expect another cliff hanging last over finish. Five wins on the trot makes CSK the favourites to win this match and make their top position even stronger in the IPL points table.

Before we preview the matches of Chennai vs Kolkata and Delhi vs Pune, we have seen a bit of shuffling in points tally after Saturday's results. Hyderabad lost to Rajasthan and Mumbai won against Bangalore. Hence Mumbai has moved into top four and Hyderabad has slipped to fifth position.

Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Chennai Super Kings is at an advantage after yesterday's results. The difference of net run rate between them and Bangalore has reduced as Bangalore lost against Mumbai with a big margin. On the other hand a win today for Chennai will take them to the top spot. Meanwhile Kolkata Knight Riders found a win after a long time against Kings XI Punjab on Friday. But they face an uphill task as they take on a stronger team CSK today.

Kolkata is still languishing in the bottom half of points tally and they badly need few more wins to enter the top four contenders. Gautam Gambhir has been rock solid at the top and Morgan has provided some good finishing touches. Bowling wise KKR rides on success of Narine.

Similar is the case for CSK. Michael Hussey is in brilliant form and scoring loads of runs at the top. MS Dhoni still continues to be one of the best finishers in the cricket world. His quickfire knock against Hyderabad was worth a watch when he smashed Dale Steyn for three sixes and managed a big win for CSK. Very similar to Narine, CSK's ace has to be R Ashwin. 

Delhi Daredevils vs Pune Warriors 

This is a match of equals based on the current form. Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors India are in woeful form and lie at the bottom of points table. Both have played 8 matches each. Delhi has won just one and Pune has won two. They almost look out of the contention of play offs and a miracle can now take them to the next stage.

This match would be a fun for a neutral venue crowd as Raipur gets an opportunity to host this match. Delhi Daredevils managed a superb win against Mumbai Indians but after that they lost to Kings XI Punjab. Hopefully change in venue may change their fortunes.

Pune Warriors India haven't had a great time this year and above all they suffered severe punishment from Chris Gayle who scored a 30 ball century against them in last match. It would be hard for Pune to recover from that nightmare. In four matches played so far against Delhi Daredevils, Pune has managed just one win and one match had no result.

Kolkata Knight Riders get another opportunity at their home ground of Eden Gardens to revive their fortunes. After a good start to IPL, they slumped badly with three losses. They are lingering on seventh position in the points table and finding it hard to move up. Kings XI Punjab face them at the Eden Gardens and give them a tough contest due to their good recent form.

Kings XI Punjab have had a good bowling unit and their young batsmen like David Miller and Manpreet Singh have highly impressed with their batting heroics. Gilchrist has failed so far with hardly 60 odd runs in his seven innings. On the other hand David Hussey has been good in patches and he has to play to his calibre and contribute more to the team. Azhar Mahmood has failed with his bat but now with his bowling. Piyush Chawla who has featured in 78 matches for Kings XI Punjab has also been a vital member in the bowling line up.

It would be a treat to watch how Kings XI Punjab's batsmen deal with the mysterious bowling of Narine. It will also be worth a watch on how Punjab's bowler would be able to produce swing at the Eden Gardens. Beating KKR at home won't be easy but the current form of Punjab is way better than KKR.

After a long time, good contributions came from everyone's bat in KKR when they played against Mumbai. After posting a good 159 runs on the board, the bowling didn't click. Mumbai chased the total and that resulted in another disappointing loss for the defending champions KKR.

Gautam Gambhir is doing consistently well with his bat. But he fails at times in his captaincy. And he is badly in need of support from the other hand when he bats. Manoj Tiwary and Kallis are injured and it could be a blessing in disguise if McCullum comes in and brings KKR on winning track.

Both teams have won 5 matches each against each other and one team will have an upper hand after today's match in this head to head stats. Will it be Kolkata Knight Riders or will it be the visiting team Kings XI Punjab? Any guesses, please comment.

We are into the 34th match of IPL 2013 as Chennai Super Kings face Sunrisers Hyderabad. This can be termed as a match of heavyweights based on their current form. It promises to be a tight contest between Chennai's good batting vs Hyderabad's good bowling.

Chennai is high on confidence after winning their last three matches. Another win here serves them a great opportunity to clinch the top position of the points tally again. For that they will have to win the match with a considerably big margin to overcome RCB in terms of net run rate. 

Unlike previous years, this time Chennai has lost two out of their four matches at home and they would hate to lose again. Overall most of the wins for Chennai has come in the last over and hence we can term those wins as unconvincing.

On the other hand the underdogs Sunrisers Hyderabad has surprised everyone with upsets they created against good teams. They came from nowhere and are landed comfortably in top four teams. The last couple wins were registered against Pune Warriors India and Kings XI Punjab. Hopefully a break of 5 days won't break their winning momentum.

We have no head to head count this time as the new entrant Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Chennai Super Kings for the first time ever in IPL history. It would be an absolute treat to watch the likes of Steyn and Amit Mishra bowling against Hussey, Dhoni and Raina. We can also expect some heroics from Ravindra Jadeja who failed miserably with ball and bat against Rajasthan Royals in the last match.

After this match CSK will play KKR at home and Sunrisers will fly to Jaipur to lock horns with the Rajasthan Royals.
