After a brilliant start to IPL this year, Munaf now looks less effective. Harbhajan hasn't clicked form yet which is not a good sign for the team.

Pune has played well in patches. The way they begin their IPL 2012 journey, it seemed they won't look back. But recent defeats have been a major setback for them placing them in the bottom half of the points tally. Batting line up looks strong with the likes of Ganguly, Ryder, Uthappa, Samuels, etc. But they all need to click well if they have to beat the Mumbai Indians. Rahul Sharma, Samuels, Nehra and Wayne Parnell are all capable enough to trouble the Mumbai batsmen.

Mumbai Indians are currently placed on seventh position with four wins out of seven matches. So if you see Mumbai has lost just one match more than Delhi but they lag so behind in the points tally. That is the beauty of this year's IPL. Teams are so evenly matched that just a win here or there can reshuffle the whole points tally to a large extent. A win here for Mumbai Indians will easily bring them in top two or three positions.

Delhi Daredevils look invincible with star players in their team. Virender Sehwag looks in a sparkling form as he scored a very quick 87 runs against Pune Warriors. Kevin Pieterson is in brilliant form with 214 runs to his name in just five innings. Ross Taylor and Mahela Jayawardene are another two stars strengthening Delhi's batting line up.

Irfan Pathan and the purple cap owner Morkel provide good stability to Delhi's bowling unit. Umesh Yadav got a flying start to this IPL but in the last two matches he looked out of touch. This bowling unit of Delhi can put Mumbai Indians under pressure at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

Mumbai Indians clinched a good win against Punjab to get back to the winning ways. Rayudu, Rohit Sharma and Pollard are doing a good job with the bat. A good quick knock is awaited from Sachin Tendulkar. Mumbai's bowling has been completely distorted in the recent matches. Munaf Patel who looked in a very good form earlier leaked away loads of runs. Harbhajan Singh and RP Singh are not in the best of their forms. Absence of Lasith Malinga is clearly felt in the Mumbai's bowling camp.

Kotla's pitch looks flat and hence a high scoring match. This implies we all would enjoy a flurry of runs between two heavyweights viz. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils.

MI Vs KKR - Decider for the second spot on the IPL points table

Earlier today RCB defeated CSK and cemented their top spot in the points table. CSK is currently placed on second spot. But as the title of this post says, MI Vs KKR will be the ultimate decider for 2nd spot.

Lets have a look at the permutation and combination. If KKR wins, they will topple CSK and take 2nd spot because of their better net run rate. If MI has to take the second spot they have to win with big margin because they are lagging behind in net run rate when compared to KKR and CSK. So the road ahead is tougher for MI.

But one thing both the teams don't have to worry about is, both have already qualified to the next round. Its the effort to make it into top 2 as 1st qualifier acts as an easier way to enter finals.

When DC defeated KXIP, MI were confirmed in top 4. MI needs to come out of their three on the trot defeats and display some good cricket here. They have the strength in the form of Sachin Tendulkar, Rayudu, Pollard, Symonds, Harbhajan, etc. Time to capitalise.

KKR is in striking form with Gambhir, Kallis, Tiwary, etc. Bowling is good with Pathan, Shakib-al-Hasan, Abdulla, etc. About the history of these two teams, MI have won 5 and KKR has just managed to win one.

Can an IPL be more interesting than this? Just yesterday we came to know the final four teams. RCB has been excellent after Chris Gayle joined the party. Just a loss in their last match against Kings Eleven brought them on the second spot. A loss here may bring them on third or fourth position as they will have to depend on the result of Mumbai Indians Vs Kolkata Knight Riders result.

If Chris Gayle stays there for 7-8 overs, he can create nightmares for the oppositon. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have to play an important role today. Win against Royal Challengers Bangalore with a brilliant ton from Gilchrist took KXIP to a higher level which cemented their belief to reach next round. They would be looking to beat Deccan Chargers and make 8 wins out of 14 to match with other toppers. Net run rate will come into picture. A big win here would give an advantage to Kings Eleven.

The excitement of which four teams will make into the play offs is keeping the interest alive in IPL. Chennai Super Kings have already entered the next round. Mumbai Indians loss yesterday have toughened their situation and they will have to win their last match against KKR.
