IPL Series Results

Indian Premier League has fascinated cricket fraternity year after the other. So far five editions of IPL have been played and each of them have been successful in their own ways. Four editions were played in India and one in South Africa. Let us have a look at the series results so far!

IPL 1 (2007/08):
The first edition was played in India. The final match was played between Chennai Super Kings led by Dhoni and Rajasthan Royals led by Shane Warne. On 1st June 2008, CSK scored 163 for 5 batting first at Mumbai. In reply Rajasthan Royals scored 164 for 7. This was a nail biting last ball finish.

IPL 2 (2009):
The second edition was played in South Africa. The final match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers at Johhanesburg on 24th May 2009. Deccan Chargers led by Adam Gilchrist scored 143 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. RCB led by Anil Kumble felt short of just 6 runs and lost the finals to Deccan Chargers.

IPL 3 (2009/10):
The third edition was played in India. The final  match was played between Dhoni led CSK and Sachin Tendulkar led Mumbai Indians at Mumbai on 25th April 2010. CSK scored 168 batting first and restricted MI to 149/9 to win the title by 22 runs.

IPL 4 (2011):
The fourth edition of IPL was played in India. The final match was played between Dhoni led CSK and Vettori led RCB at Chennai on 28th May 2011. CSK won the IPL title for second consecutive time. CSK defeated RCB by 58 runs.

IPL 5 (2012):
The fifth edition was also played in India. The final match was played between CSK led by Dhoni and KKR led by Gambhir. Out of five editions, CSK was successful to reach the finals for the fourth time. But this time KKR turned tables on them and won the final which was played at Chennai on 27th May 2012.

Let us hope IPL 2013 (IPL 6) brings us another season of great cricket performances
