Match 1 - Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings have lost just two out of their 11 matches this year and they proved why they are the best ever IPL team so far. They stand way ahead of others at first position in points tally. The only two losses they saw this year was against Mumbai back home in Chennai and one against Pune Warriors. After that Chennai Super Kings never saw back.

Mumbai won a chain of matches back home and then recently lost a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Another win for Hyderabad against Delhi gave them a chance to enter top four and push Mumbai Indians to fifth position. So Mumbai would be hunting for a win at Wankhede Stadium against CSK.

Michael Hussey is just next to Chris Gayle in the race of leading run scorers this IPL. If he clicks here at the Wankhede along with the Captain Cool Dhoni; it would invite trouble for Mumbai Indians. On the other hand it is good to see Raina back in form as he scored a ton in the last match.

For Mumbai Indians the skipper Rohit Sharma is doing a good job. He is consistently scoring well. Dinesh Karthik is another leading run scorer. There hasn't been too much of contributions from Sachin Tendulkar so far. Bowling wise they have a better line up consisting of Ojha, Malinga, Johnson and Harbhajan. This year CSK has suffered a bit at the bowling front with inconsistency from Ashwin, Nannes and Jadeja. Bravo is amongst the leading wicket takers this year.

Match 2 - Rajasthan Royals vs Pune Warriors

With this match between the Rajasthan Royals and Pune Warriors we reach match no. 50 this year in the IPL. A long yet exciting IPL 2013 journey so far with abundance of interesting matches. This is a match of unevens as in form Rajasthan take on Pune Warriors who are completely out of sorts.

Rajasthan stands on fourth position just above the Mumbai Indians. A win here for Rajasthan will raise concerns for Mumbai Indians. But it seems this has to be a win for Rajasthan as they are facing Pune Warriors that languishes at the bottom of points table.

Rajasthan will rely a lot on their trump card Shane Watson who has been brilliant with his all round performance. Meanwhile Rahul Dravid and Rahane can always contribute consistently with bat. Pune's batting hasn't clicked so well so far. Bowling looks miserable and hence it gives Rajasthan a better chance to clinch this one.

They have been in the top four teams all the IPL years so far. They have reached the IPL finals thrice out of four and won two of them. So they are the team to beat all the way long. Now they have nothing to lose. They may have lost hopes of making it into the second round. But the luck has favoured them. Now its time for them to convert this into a win and once again progress to the finals.

Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni are yet to showcase their brilliance and this is the best opportunity. They are big match turners and they can play innings of their IPL careers to take the team to the finals. Albie Morkel and Dwayne Bravo need to repeat one of those good all round performances to take the team home. Ben Hilfenhaus has been upto the mark with bowling and he needs to continue his good line and length in the eliminator.

Mumbai Indians finished third in the points tally and missed the entry to qualifier just by one point. So they are here placed in the eliminator against Chennai. Mumbai Indians played exceptionally well against Rajasthan Royals in the last league match and won the match by ten wickets. Sachin and Smith took the team home with some sensible batting till the end. Mumbai has good players like Gibbs, Franklin, Rohit Sharma, Rayudu, Pollard who all are well capable of producing match winning T20 performances. Their ace bowler Lasith Malinga can easily turn tables on the opposition.

The venue for this match is M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore which is a flat track supporting the batsmen more than the bowlers. So we can expect a high scoring game here. It is hard to pick up any team as favourites here as Mumbai Indians are in a better form whereas Chennai Super Kings are renowned to play well in the final phases of the league.
