Here comes another Sunday with double treat from Indian Premier League 2012. Kolkata Knight Riders take on Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens. On the other hand we have another star studded match of Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Rajasthan Royals at Bangalore.

Whenever we talk about Royal Challengers Bangalore, it reminds us of swashbuckling batting of Chris Gayle who can dismantle any bowling attack. Gayle was exceptional with 6 sixes against Chennai Super Kings but his innings went in vain due to a thrilling win by Chennai over Bangalore.
Both Bangalore and Royals are desperate to win a match now because they both have lost their last two matches. Rajasthan is placed on 5th position while Bangalore is on the 7th position in the points table. So they both are desperate to climb up the tally with a win here.
Rajasthan lacks good scorers but their bowling looks impressive with Botha and Hogg. If they can include Shaun Tait into the playing eleven that would be a boost to the quick attack. If Botha opens the bowling again for Rajasthan, it would be an interesting contest between him and Chris Gayle. Infact a success for Botha in the first over can change fortunes for Rajasthan.
Royal Challengers Bangalore lead the head to head count over Rajasthan 4-3. Apart from Chris Gayle, they have couple of very good batsmen worth watch who are Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. From the bowling perspective, they have Muralitharan and Vettori who can manage things pretty well.

After last night's win over Chennai Super Kings, Pune Warriors now tops the chart with 3 wins from 4 matches. Same is the case for Mumbai Indians but they lag behind Pune by fraction of the Net Run Rate. Delhi has played a match less and has two wins. With the return of Jayawardene and Pietersen, Delhi looks stronger and they may top the chart with one more win in their next match.
1st Match today - Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Kings XI Punjab
Both these teams are on a high after winning their last matches. But the big difference is Kolkata comfortably rests on number 4 whereas Kings Eleven Punjab lags behind on the second last position in the points tally. A win here or there shuffle the points tally to a great extent.
Biggest benefit for Kolkata today would be their home pitch. The pitch here at Eden Gardens is slow and hence gives a big boost to the spin trio of Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine. These spinners have a big support of Kallis and Balaji. So we could conclude that Kolkata is a better bowling unit in today's match.
Shaun Marsh is one of the most important player for Kings XI Punjab since the inception of IPL. He has been a prolific run scorer and is a treat to watch. His unbeaten 64 runs against Pune Warriors helped Kings XI Punjab to register a win. Praveen Kumar is a big worry for Punjab as he still stays wicketless after 3 matches.
