Couple of good matches schedule today in the IPL. The first match would be played at Jaipur where Rajasthan Royals play against Deccan Chargers. The other match is to be played at Bangalore where Royal Challengers will take on Pune Warriors.
1st Match - Rajasthan Royals Vs Deccan Chargers
Points table has again shuffled and now its Delhi Daredevils who tops the chart with 3 wins in 4 matches. They also enjoy a healthy net run rate of +1.099 and they are followed by Rajasthan Royals on position 2 with three wins in five matches. A win here against the Deccan Chargers will give them the top position again.
Deccan Chargers are placed at the bottom of the table with two matches and two losses. The last match they played against Mumbai was a thriller where they leaked a lot of runs in the last over to concede a win to Mumbai. Ideally this was a match that belonged to the Deccan Chargers. Dale Steyn bowled exceptionally well just to see himself helpless when no other bowler provided him a good support to win the match.
Rajasthan Royals have played seven matches against Deccan Chargers and have won six! The head to head stats is completely dominated by the Royals. If you all remember, Rajasthan Royals chased 215 runs against Deccan Chargers in 2008. That is the biggest run chase in the history or IPL.
Ajinkya Rahane and Owais Shah are batting beautifully and it is always a treat to watch their batting. They hardly slog and their scoring shots are risk free and from the coaching manuals. If these two click again, it would be a tough task for Sangakarra and his team to clinch a win here against the Royals.
2nd Match - Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Pune Warriors India
Another match featuring a 'royal' team! Pune Warriors and going hand in hand with Rajasthan Royals. A win here against Royal Challengers Bangalore can also give Pune an opportunity to reach the first position in the IPL points table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore looks the strongest team on paper with the likes of Dilshan, Kohli, Vettori, Muralitharan and Gayle. But they are languishing at the bottom of the points table eager to snatch a win here or there. Pune Warriors are relieved with another win in their pocket (the last being against Chennai Super Kings).
If we talk off the paper, Pune looks a better outfit with the winning flow as well the playing combination. Uthappa looks aggressive and good when he opens with Ryder. World knows that when Ryder goes going he is just unstoppable. With Ganguly, Fergusson, Samuels and Angelo Mathews in the batting order, things look all right for Pune Warriors.
As far as Pune's bowling is concerned they have Nehra and Dinda doing a good job with the new ball. Anjelo Mathews and Ryder come in handy as an option in bowling unit. Rahul Sharma and Murali Karthik are doing a great job with the spin.
