Australia's tour to West Indies kicks off with an ODI series which comprises of 5 matches. This will be followed by two T20 matches and then we could enjoy the longest version of this game viz. Test cricket. Australia start as favourites to clinch wins in all the forms of cricket they play in West Indies. After a long transition period, Australians how found back their winning ways.

Australia clinched a 4-0 win over India in test series which was followed by a 2-1 win in 'best of three finals' of CB Series against Sri Lanka. Hence the cricket summer at home could be summarised as 'success' for Australia after a disappointing Ashes and World Cup 2012 run. As Ricky Ponting has retired from ODI cricket, fans would miss him in the initial part of the West Indies tour. He will join the team in the end for three test matches.

Michael Clarke is still out with injury and he makes way for Watson who would handle the captaincy. He would also play the opening batsman role with the dashing David Warner who has recently scored couple of tons against Srilanka. David Hussey and Michael Hussey were consistent with the bat throughout the CB Series and they provided stability to the batting line up in the middle order. Other stars comprise of Wade, Christian and Forrest. These three have proved their cricketing abilities and provide a good young strength to the Australian squad.

Brett Lee, the veteran Australian bowler has been in good form clinching lot of wickets. He has received a good support from McKay and Hilfenhaus in terms of quick bowling. Slow nature of the pitches here would compel Australia to play both their spinners Lyon and Doherty.

West Indies will miss some of their star cricketers. Tino Best will rejoin the team after three years as their spearhead Ravi Rampaul is out due to injury. If the differences between Chris Gayle and the West Indies Cricket Board would have been sorted out, fans would have loved to see some powerful hitting by Gayle. Dwayne Bravo also makes a comeback to the team after more than nine months.
