India faces a daunting task against Australia

Beating Australia in Australia in any form of cricket has been a dream of any team. Two teams that come to our minds who managed to achieve this feat in last few years in test cricket were South Africa and England. India was very close to do this in their last tour to Australia which was plagued with lot of controversies. India lost the test series 1-2 but bounced back to win the triangular ODI series beating Australia 2-0 in best of three finals.

Australian team is in a phase of revival so that would be a point where Indians may feel relaxed that this could be the easiest team they will ever face in last two decades down under. But at the same time even beating this team looks very difficult. Because slowly the current Australian team is started to taste success. They displayed very good cricket in Sri Lanka and South Africa.

India on the other hand after the world cup triumph has seen mixed results. Two teams they have faced after world cup are West Indies and England. Tour to West Indies was majorly successful followed by a dreadful tour to England where nothing went right for India. Then England toured to India for T20 and ODI matches. India had an upper hand this time. West Indies is on a tour to India and India looks dominating.

India will pitch in a strong batting line up down under but bowling force will be inexperienced which could be a concern. Overall Indian team needs to better their best performances if they have to win a test series this time in Australia.

Televison viewers in India - ESPN STAR cricket live streaming telecast on TV can be enjoyed from 26th December 2011 when both the teams battle it out in the boxing day test match.
