NewZealand beats Australia in a super over after a thrilling tie

After losing the 1st T20 to the visitors, it was time to come back to the 2nd T20 with all the cylinders blazing for New Zealand. Batting first they posted a huge total of 214 for 6 with Brendon McCullum smashing a memorable 116 not out in just 56 balls.

Replying to this mammoth total, Australia batter pretty well to go on and tie the match. Needing 12 runs to win in the final over, Australia could just manage 11 runs to tie the match. Australia ended up their innings with 214 runs for 4 wickets.

In the decider super over, Australia could just score 6 runs with Tim Southee bowling for New Zealand. Shaun Tait bowled the super over for Australia and gave away 9 runs in just three balls.

The two matches T20 series ended up in 1-1. This was Australia's final T20 match before they head on for the T20 world cup to be played in the month of May in West Indies.
